Types of climbing: Rock Climbing - Test your endurance and strength while climbing up natural rock formations using hand and foot holds or simply free climbing (using gear for safety only). Rock climbing relies on techniques and equipment with climbers usually working in pairs with a system of ropes to catch a fall.  Top-roping is a climbing technique using a gear system, first by securing an anchor fixed at the top of a section of rock with a rope running from the climber up through the anchor and back down to the belayer (the person managing and controlling the safety rope attached to the climber).  Read the rest of this entry »

Climbing is both an activity of endurance and of strength.  Whether it be rock, mountain or ice climbing these individuals show an enthusiasm that reaches mountain peaks.  Why choose climbing? Why not this activity involves little equipment (rope, ice picks..) and will reward you with breathtaking views that are not reachable by any other means.
